iSpindel Calibration Guide for iRelay Users

1️⃣ Preparation

  • Prepare your iSpindel and calibration liquids:

    • Pure water (SG ≈ 1.000)

    • Sugared water, wort, or beer with known SG/Plato values.

  • Make sure iSpindel can float freely and tilt without obstruction.

  • With iRelay, you can see the Tilt (°) directly on the display, which makes calibration faster and more precise.

  • Have a digital refractometer or hydrometer ready for accurate SG/Plato measurement.

2️⃣ First Point – Water

  • Place the iSpindel in pure water.

  • Record the Tilt value directly from the iRelay display.

  • This is your reference point (SG ≈ 1.000).

3️⃣ Subsequent Points – Sugared Water / Wort

  • Gradually add sugar or use known wort/beer.

  • For each concentration, record the Tilt value from the display and the corresponding SG/Plato.

  • Recommended: 3–6 points covering the expected tilt range during fermentation.

4️⃣ Enter Data in the Tool

  • Open the iSpindel Calibration Tool on the web.

  • Enter the collected pairs of Tilt (°) and SG/Plato.

  • Use Add Row if you need more entries (up to 10).

  • Note: decimal numbers must use a dot (.) as the decimal separator, not a comma.

5️⃣ Calculate the Formula

  • Click Calculate.

  • You will see the iSpindel formula in the format:
