iSpindel Calibration Guide for iRelay Users
1️⃣ Preparation
-
Prepare your iSpindel and calibration liquids:
-
Pure water (SG ≈ 1.000)
-
Sugared water, wort, or beer with known SG/Plato values.
-
-
Make sure iSpindel can float freely and tilt without obstruction.
-
With iRelay, you can see the Tilt (°) directly on the display, which makes calibration faster and more precise.
-
Have a digital refractometer or hydrometer ready for accurate SG/Plato measurement.
2️⃣ First Point – Water
-
Place the iSpindel in pure water.
-
Record the Tilt value directly from the iRelay display.
-
This is your reference point (SG ≈ 1.000).
3️⃣ Subsequent Points – Sugared Water / Wort
-
Gradually add sugar or use known wort/beer.
-
For each concentration, record the Tilt value from the display and the corresponding SG/Plato.
-
Recommended: 3–6 points covering the expected tilt range during fermentation.
4️⃣ Enter Data in the Tool
-
Open the iSpindel Calibration Tool on the web.
-
Enter the collected pairs of Tilt (°) and SG/Plato.
-
Use Add Row if you need more entries (up to 10).
-
Note: decimal numbers must use a dot (.) as the decimal separator, not a comma.
5️⃣ Calculate the Formula
-
Click Calculate.
-
You will see the iSpindel formula in the format:
